POSITION :  SENIOR  ACCOUNTANT

 JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Responsible for overseeing tax-related work, organizing and supervising department personnel to complete various tasks within their scope.
  • Responsible for the declaration, payment, and accounting treatment of various taxes (individual income tax, VAT, corporate income tax, WHT, etc.), as well as tax reporting, and auditing.
  • Engage in tax planning and improvement to reduce tax burden and mitigate risks; research tax incentives to benefit the company.
  • Ensure compliance and risk management, adjust processes promptly according to tax policies; promote the informatization of tax work by streamlining system processes.
  • Experience in coordinating audits, responsible for annual audit work.
  • Proficient in using the SAGE system for accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in finance, accounting, or related fields, with work experience in Chinese or multinational companies.
  • Over 5 years of experience in audit and tax management, with preference given to those with related supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Should have professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA.
  • Must be a member of ICAM.
  • Familiarity with Malawi’s tax environment and tax planning, possessing strong abilities in tax planning and risk control.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and team management skills, capable of effectively organizing and promoting tax-related work.
  • Excellent communication and data analysis skills, capable of drafting tax documents in English and handling complex tax issues.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Must have computer skills and familiar with accounting software like (Quickbook,SAGE)
  • Be a team player
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be of high integrity with ability to follow system and procedures.
