Word Alive Commission for Relief and Development (WACRAD), a developmental arm of Word Alive Ministries International, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position:
Title of post: Sponsorship Officer
Grade: MM 3
Location: Blantyre
Qualifications
- Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Education, or any related field involving child rights and policies with a well-recognized University/College.
- At least 2 years’ experience
- Ability to motivate community volunteers, parents and children even in adverse situations.
- Excellent supervisory skills, personal maturity, sensitivity to gender and cultural Issues.
- Experience with usage of participatory tools and methodologies
- High conviction and understanding of the importance of child participation
- Computer/software skills, literacy and ability to use a camera
- Fluent in English and Chichewa
- Class A motor cycle licence
- Experience in working with Faith Based Organisations an added advantage
Personal Attributes
- A Christian stand without reproach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chichewa.
- Proven record of integrity and accountability.
- A crime free record and experience of working closely with children in rural areas
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Willingness to work odd hours and demonstrate ability to work to strict deadlines to ensure effective communication to sponsors and donors.

Duties
- Providing necessary information to the community about the program
- Collecting information from families and children in the program
- Timely delivery of Identity Sheets, Project Reports and qualitative management of Child Reports and Leaving Forms
- Managing sponsorship files and annual children’s lists
- Facilitate children’s meaningful participation in the project activities
Remuneration
Remuneration in line with the Church’s Salary Structure will be offered to the successful candidates.
