SOS Children’s Villages Malawi is a non-governmental child development organization which started its operations in Malawi in 1994. We envision every child belonging to a family and growing with love, respect and security. We support children who have lost parental care and those at risk of losing parental care to develop within a caring family environment to their full potential as contributing members of their respective societies. We are currently operating SOS Children’s Villages Programmes in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Ngabu
SOS Vocational Training Centre (VTC) is a private training institution accredited by TEVETA. SOS Vocational Training Centre is situated in Lilongwe.
It offers training in various courses and trades for youth entrepreneurship and employability under SOS Children’s Villages in Malawi.
In this context, we are looking for suitable candidates to fill vacant positions at the SOS Vocational Training centreas follows:
INSTRUCTORS (VARIOUS POSTS)
Minimum Qualification/ Skills Required:
- Edible Horticulture (Full – Time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from an Accredited institution. - Instructor- Information and Communication
Technology (Part time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology- Must possess CISCO certification
- Knowledge in Microsoft AZULE
- Be able to train young people in graphic designing, Website development, Network management and Database administration
- Electrical Installation and Electronics (Part time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Education majoring in Electrical Engineering/ Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering - Construction AutoCAD (Part Time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Education – Technology - Fashion Designing (Part Time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Designing or Advance Diploma in Fashion Designing with 5 years practical experience - Community Development and Social Work (part time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Social work/Development Studies - Public Health (Part Time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health - Food Production (Part Time)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts - Entrepreneurship And Communication (Part

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship - Carpentry and Joinery (Part Time)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INSTRUCTORS)
1.0 Delivery of Training to students in designated trades.
- Prepare schemes of work and keep progress reports on individual basis and daily registers Ensures good and safe working environment
- Assist in maintaining a well-organized and safe classroom environment, ensuring that all safety protocols and rules are followed.
2.0 Ensure adherence to set standards in delivery of programmes
- Adheres to all assessment standards set up by TEVETA and other national and international examination regulatory bodies
- Ensures adherence to set standards of service delivery in all program areas
- Provides constructive feedback to help students improve.
3.0 Promote entrepreneurship skills in all program areas by ensuring product-based type of training
- Ensure cost effectiveness in the use of training resources
- Participate in the income generating activities through projects carried out on or out of training campus
- Promotes products of the Centre in liaison with the entrepreneurship instructor.
- Updates inventories, meeting deadlines and ensures total safety to trainees and training equipment.
- Reports and keep records of accidents or damage to property
- Formulates yearly objectives and individual plans and ensures they are attained.
- Ensures that monthly progress reports, records and statistics are submitted in time.
- Provides induction to all new trainees of the vision and mission of SOS Children’s Villages Malawi and core beneficiaries and business of the Vocational Training Centre.
