Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations (MANASO)

MANASO is a Network organization comprising Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Local NGOs, and International NGOs in all districts across the country. Its mandate is to coordinate the HIV and AIDS national response among Civil Society Organizations in Malawi. In addition to the coordination role, MANASO also implements activities that focus on HIV/AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), TB, COVID-19, Malaria, Nutrition, and Humanitarian response.

To achieve the implementation of various programs, MANASO, therefore, invites expressions of interest from qualified Malawians for the following position:

Finance Manager

Reporting directly to the Executive Director and getting technical guidance from the Head of Finance and Administration, the Finance Manager (Global Fund PROJECT) will be responsible for all daily financial transactions, payments, recording, and monitoring of the Global Fund HIV/AIDS and TB project following GAAP and MANASO finance policies, procedures, and organizational guidelines.

She/he will work closely with the Head of Finance and administration, the Capacity Building Manager, as well as other project team members. As part of the finance team, the Finance Manager will maintain a complete filing system to support audits and fulfillment of the Global Fund’s external and internal reporting.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Manage a Global Fund Compliant Financial Management and Reporting system.
  2. Ensures accuracy and timely recording of financial transactions through daily verification of all financial transactions.
  3. Ensure the standard procedures, systems, and controls of the Finance functions are operating efficiently
  1. Ensure that donor-required reports are prepared accurately and disseminated timely, in coordination with different functions (program management, M&E, finance), to ensure quality analysis of the issues and identification of appropriate solutions.
  2. Produce financial and budget reports, develop procedures and guidelines for all activities, monitor project budgets, maintain accurate financial records on project activities, and monitor transactions to ensure Global fund regulations.
  3. Proactively track budget spending against the budget and provide recommendations to management on needed actions
  4. Facilitate and oversee Global Fund–required audits.
  5. Train and mentor project staff on financial policies and procedures, in collaboration with Compliance Officer
  6. Ensure integrity and effective control of financial, material, and human resources and assets
  7. Ensure timely validation of district activity justifications.
  8. Review and analyze assessment, monitoring, trip reports, and monthly updates promptly and to inform follow-up actions
  9. Other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualification and Experience

  1. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or equivalent.
  2. Working knowledge of accounting packages.
  3. Registered and paid-up member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM)
  4. Professional qualifications such as ACCA/CIMA
  5. At least seven (7) years of progressive experience in a financial management role.
  6. Professional experience with Global Fund projects will be an added advantage
