Malawi Electoral Commission

The Malawi Electoral Commission, “the Commission”, is a body corporate created under Section 75(1) of the Constitution, to supervise, direct and preside over the conduct of all elections in Malawi.

In accordance with Section 13 of the Malawi Electoral Commission Act, the Commission seeks to appoint a suitably qualified person with relevant experience to fill the following vacant position within its secretariat.

Job Title: Human Resources Development Officer
Number Required : 1
Grade: C6
Responsible to : Director of Administration and Human Resources
Location: Head Office

Purpose: Responsible for identifying training and development needs within the organization and conduct and implementing training activity programs

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Design and implement training and development programmes
  • Developing and managing training budgets
  • Developing effective induction programs
  • Conducting Appraisals
  • Revising employee training plan
  • Producing training materials
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress of employees who have undergone training
  • Evaluating training development of new staff
  • Helping the managers and training solve specific training problems
  • Keeping up to date with developments in training
  • Looking for ways to grow and refrain talent
  • Conducting and training development needs assessment
  • Implementing and coordinating with department for the employees on Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
  • Administer specify against departmental budget
  • Producing training reports

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Human Resources

Age

Between 21 to 40 years

Skills

  • Excellence verbal and writing communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to evaluate research training options and
  • computer skills especially Ms word, Excel, Powerpoint analytical skills
  • Must demonstrate impartiality at all times
