Malawi Electoral Commission

The Malawi Electoral Commission, “the Commission”, is a body corporate created under Section 75(1) of the Constitution, to supervise, direct and preside over the conduct of all elections in Malawi.

In accordance with Section 13 of the Malawi Electoral Commission Act, the Commission seeks to appoint a suitably qualified person with relevant experience to fill the following vacant position within its secretariat.

A. TEMPORARY POSTS

Job Title: Temporary Elections Management Device Operators
Number Required : 15360
Responsible to: Director of ICT
Purpose: Facilitate voter registration process
Location: Councils

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Capturing and printing of Voter information
  • Taking care of the EMD and materials
  • Producing reports daily and at the end of each phase and making sure that reports are signed for by the party representatives.
  • Making sure that Registration centers are opening and closing on time
  • Account for Registration materials and equipment
  • Making sure that all data and EMDs are secure
  • Working as part of the registration team
  • Making sure all information gets stored and backed up according to set rules and regulations
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • Must have MSCE and a Certificate or Diploma in Information Communications and Technology
  • Malawian Citizen with National ID

Core Competence

  • Must be of good track record
  • Mature and able to work in the field with minimum supervision
  • Applicants must be able to discharge their duties in a non-partisan manner
  • Those who have worked with the Malawi Electoral Commission as a Biometric Voter Registration Operators during the past Elections will have an added advantage.
  • Those who have worked with the National Registration Bureau as Registration Officers during the civil registration will have an added advantage
  • Must demonstrate impartiality at all times
