FIELD BASED ACCOUNT MANAGER – CENTRE AND NORTH

AMG Global’s Client, VIVO ENERGY Malawi, a leading retailer of petroleum and related products, seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of FIELD BASED ACCOUNT MANAGER – CENTRE AND NORTH. The position is tenable in Lilongwe.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Field Based Account Manager – Centre and North will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing customer relationships and to identify and win new business using Face-to-Face selling and negotiating skills to grow the business by increasing volume and margin in lien with group negotiated agreements

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The position’s key principal accountabilities, include the following:

  • Plan customer calls and visits to provide appropriate level of service to existing and new customers with a focus on retaining / expanding existing business relationships.
  • Deals mainly with gold banded customers.
  • Increase the value for existing VIVO Energy customers through cross, range and up selling. Develop new opportunities with prospective customers independently and from leads developed through tele-Prospecting.
  • Understand the activity, business and needs of customers, provide sound information and advice on products and services, and to sell and negotiate win-win solutions with customers.
  • Plan, monitor and achieve individual and team sales targets (e.g., value, margin, growth, named customer CVP, and trade debtor targets).

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND APTITUDES:

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or other relevant qualification. A Master’s Degree holders in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of Sale experience or in either office or field based sales environment;.
  • Experience in the oil industry and product knowledge on Fuels and Lubricants would be an advantage
  • Good working knowledge of the customer’s operation and financials, and CRM tools.
  • Basic understanding of SAP / ERP systems desirable.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Broad competence in retail sales and operations, commercial acumen, strong customer orientation, and Problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and negotiating multi-year sales agreements.
  • Strong negotiations skills, strong people and management skills, ability to manage relationships at high level within organizations or companies, and ability to coach and train others.
