Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government’s efforts in in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.

MACRO’s Vision is Malawi populace free of ill-Health” and its Mission is “Transform lives of Malawians through provision of high-quality HIV and AIDS, and other health related services”.

With funding from CDC, MACRO is implementing the IMPACT Project whose purpose is: To strengthen effective measures to address unmet needs for HTS among men, AGYW and KP/PP and HIV services for KP in CDC supported districts towards the attainment of 95-95-95 goals.

Therefore, MACRO is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position in Lilongwe

Job Title: DREAMS Project Manager

Location: Lilongwe

Reporting to: Head of Programs

Position Summary:

The Project Manager will work closely with the Head of Programs, other members of MACRO Senior Management team and partners to manage and oversee DREAMS project implementation in Lilongwe in line with the set CDC guidelines, intervention core elements, and targets concerning MACRO policies and donor guidelines.

 Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree, preferably in social and behavioral sciences, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Public health, project management, or any relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5 years in managing comprehensive HIV and GBV prevention programs nationally.
  • Familiarity with PEPFAR and other international donor-funded OVC and HIV programs.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences.
  • Team player with the ability to work as a member of a multinational team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Experience with U.S. Government donor compliance and reporting.
  • Effective and diplomatic communicator at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel in-country.

Main Responsibilities

    • Oversee Field Officer staff performance to ensure effective results through mentorship and corrective adjustments.
    • Provide overall technical oversight for DREAMS Initiative implementation in the assigned Health Facilities.
    • Lead the respective DREAMS Lite team in day-to-day activities, program planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting.
    • Implement the project to achieve its set objectives, providing overall strategic and programmatic direction.
    • Develop program strategies in line with DREAMS Initiative priorities and community settings.
    • Ensure overall technical excellence and quality, guiding the development and dissemination of project deliverables at the district and national level.
    • Provide project updates, and discuss strategies, obstacles, performance plans, and indicator success.
    • Prepare required monthly, quarterly and annual reports and presentations.
    • Lead district-level CQI meetings to ensure results and deliverables are of quality, on target, and within budget.
    • Collaborate with other project teams for effective monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project achievements.
    • Review project outcomes and utilize project data for prioritizing interventions and continuous quality improvement.
    • Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with relevant stakeholders
    • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
