The Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu would like to engage a qualified persons of Malawian origin to fill the position of Building Supervisor tenable at the Secretariat. The Diocese therefore invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the positions as stated below:
Building Supervisor
Job Title: Building Supervisor
Job Summary:
The building supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
This role involves managing construction teams, coordinating with subcontractors, interpreting blueprints and specifications, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations. The construction/building supervisor also plays a key role in maintaining quality standards, managing project schedules, and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise during the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site
- Manage construction teams and subcontractors
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Monitor project schedules and progress
- Address any issues or challenges that arise during construction
- Maintain quality standards and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Construction Engineering or related field with 3yrs experience
- City and Guilds Part II technician certificate in construction engineering or building
- National trade test grade 1/ Teveta level III certificate and NCIC Foremanship level II certificate
- Proven experience in construction supervision
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and techniques
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
- Proficiency in project management software
