JOB VACANCY – SECURITY OFFICER

Position             : Security Officer (1)
Location           : Estates in Mulanje & Thyolo
Start Date         : 1^st December, 2026
Contract Period : 2 years (Renewable)

A large integrated tea and macadamia production agribusiness operating in Mulanje and Thyolo seeks to recruit qualified Security Officer (1), who will be reporting to the Senior Operations Manager.

General Description of the Role

The Security Officer will be responsible for the overall security and safety of the Company, include developing and implementing security protocols, procedures, and policies. The Officer responsibilities also include planning and coordinating security operations in coordination with the other members of the security team. The ultimate goal is to create a secure environment for employees and company properties.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                          

• Manages, supervises, and coordinates security guards for all company properties Estate establishments to ensure estate property is protected at all times.
• Conducts regular patrols of interior and exterior of properties to establish and maintain security controls.
• Provides Security drills and training to security guards in security procedures, emergency and threat response for the purpose of providing incident mitigation and response.
• Helps in managing Security equipment and vehicles and timely reporting of the faults to authorities to ensure smooth operations at all times.
• Assists in the recruitment of Security Guards for Estate establishments to ensure that qualified guards are employed with strict adherence to Company recruitment procedures.
• Records and reports cases to local Police, obtains Criminal Record (CR) numbers and follows up the cases to ensure legal conclusion at all times.
• Submits reports to management, every fortnight, detailing all the incidents that have taken place during the period, with details of CR Numbers and prosecution, for each case.
• Represents the Company in Security meetings for easy collaboration with stakeholders on Industry Security matters.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Qualification: Bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Security Studies or Minimum of Diploma in Security Studies.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in either a registered and existing Security Agency.
3. Must be an individual of high Ethical standards, Honest and Well motivated who can work with minimum supervision.
4. Computer Skills (Word, Excel,) and fluent in Chichewa and English.
5. You should also possess exceptional leadership skills and demonstrate outstanding surveillance skills. Furthermore, you should have strong security management skills and emergency response skills.
6. Willing to work hard, self-motivated and capable of managing a team.

9. Must have excellent surveillance and emergency response skills.
10. Must demonstrate strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety.
11. Must be an individual of high Ethical standards, Honest and Well motivated who can work with minimum supervision.
12. Able to ride a Motorcycle and has a valid motorcycle license.
