 Location: Lilongwe

Workforce Recruitment Services seeks to recruit suitably qualified and experienced individuals on behalf of a client for the following positions:

POSITION 1: VICE PRINCIPAL

 A highly motivated, results-oriented and experienced professional is sought for the position of Vice Principal. The Vice Principal will be responsible for supporting the school in its overall academic and operational management. The role will ensure the effective implementation of the school strategy and curriculum while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure curriculum alignment, syllabus coverage, standardisation of teaching practices, and adherence to Cambridge quality expectations.
  • Support Heads of Schools and Departments, in conjunction with the Head of Programmes, in delivering structured schemes of work and lesson planning.
  • Monitor teaching and learning across all sections to ensure consistent challenge, differentiation and progression.
  • Coordinate syllabus mapping, scheme-of-work quality, pacing guides and standardised assessment across all sections.
  • Lead instructional improvement initiatives, including classroom observations, coaching cycles and teacher evaluations.
  • Ensure departments meet academic targets and follow documented improvement plans.
  • Lead the planning and execution of internal assessments, mock examinations and learning progress tracking.
  • Ensure departments use data to close learning gaps, support high-performing learners and drive value-added outcomes.
  • Oversee internal assessment systems, policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Cambridge Assessment Objectives (AOs) and command words.
  • Lead the analysis of academic data, including Checkpoint reports, mock examinations, past results and progression data.
  • Use data to identify performance gaps and coordinate interventions, booster classes and enrichment programmes.
  • Present academic reports to Management and the Board.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day school operations, including timetabling, attendance tracking, discipline systems and communication.
  • Monitor the implementation of school policies, safeguarding standards and operational procedures.
  • Resolve operational challenges, student issues and parent escalations in collaboration with Management.
  • Support the guidance, counselling and pastoral teams in maintaining a positive, safe and inclusive school environment.
  • Lead whole-school initiatives that strengthen systems and structures rather than creating individual-dependent processes.
  • Perform any other relevant duty as assigned by the school.

Educational Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration and Planning, or a related field.
  • Experience managing reputable international Cambridge schools or their equivalent.
  • Experience managing a school as a business entity, with a focus on operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing staff, including recruitment, staff development, training, mentoring and performance assessment.
  • Demonstrated financial management competence, including the preparation and management of budgets and contracts.
  • Demonstrable people-management skills, including the ability to inspire and lead teams and hold individuals accountable for assigned tasks and duties.
  • Sensitivity and adaptability when working with diverse cultures.

 POSITION 2: SPECIAL NEEDS LEAD

 Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, delivery and management of programmes that support students with their academic, emotional and social needs.
  • Lead the team in interpreting and implementing the Cambridge International Education (CAIE) Curriculum Frameworks while adapting learning programmes to meet the diverse educational needs of learners requiring additional support.
  • Directly manage a multidisciplinary team of counsellors, special needs teachers and learning support specialists.
  • Provide teaching, support and curriculum management within educational support services.
  • Ensure the recruitment, onboarding, training and performance evaluation of all support staff.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure that all students have access to a safe, inclusive and equitable environment that promotes mental well-being, academic recovery and personal development.
  • Design and implement individual education programmes and social-emotional learning initiatives.
  • Track student performance data to identify at-risk students and deploy targeted intervention programmes.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for escalated student wellness, mental health and disciplinary emergencies.
  • Oversee case files to ensure timely updates and coordinate referrals to specialised external medical or psychological agencies.
  • In conjunction with Management, ensure that all student interventions comply with local laws relating to special educational needs.
  • Plan and execute orientations, workshops and health-awareness campaigns for students and parents.
  • Support Heads of Schools and Departments in tracking learner performance and progress, and in delivering structured schemes of work and lesson planning.
  • In conjunction with the academic leadership, lead instructional improvement initiatives, including classroom observations, coaching cycles and teacher evaluations.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day school operations, including timetabling, attendance tracking, discipline systems and communication.
  • Lead the planning and execution of internal assessments, mock examinations and learning progress tracking.
  • Monitor teaching and learning across all sections to ensure consistent challenge, differentiation and progression.
  • Provide teaching and learning expertise and support to staff.
  • Perform any other relevant duty as assigned.

Educational Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology with Special Education, or a Bachelor of Education specialising in Special Needs Education. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience working in educational support, with at least one (1) to two (2) years’ leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting learners with:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
    • Dyslexia
    • Dyscalculia
    • Dysgraphia
    • Speech and Language Difficulties
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
    • Gifted and Talented learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong assessment, monitoring and reporting skills.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

 POSITION 3: SPECIAL NEEDS TEACHER

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and implement the Curriculum Frameworks while adapting learning programmes to meet the diverse educational needs of learners requiring additional support.
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and records in accordance with the school’s policies, ensuring that differentiated learning strategies are incorporated.
  • Apply appropriate teaching methods recommended by the Curriculum Frameworks and use differentiated instructional approaches to support learners with diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrate teaching guided by the eight (8) Cambridge Teacher Standards.
  • Assess learners using appropriate assessment methods that recognise individual learning needs.
  • Develop and administer valid and reliable assessments and monitor learner progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of learners’ performance and prepare reports in accordance with the school’s policies.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers and other professionals to develop appropriate intervention strategies for learners.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote positive learner behaviour in accordance with the school’s Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure that learners receive appropriate support to maximise their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Perform any other relevant duty as assigned.

Educational Qualifications and Skills

 POSITION 4: HEAD OF CAMBRIDGE ADVANCED LEVEL

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership oversight and curriculum quality assurance.
  • Ensure syllabi, lesson plans and assessments precisely match current Cambridge International specifications.
  • Conduct classroom observations, review grading standards and lead professional development for A-Level teachers.
  • Design subject option blocks and student timetables to maximise course availability and enrolment efficiency.
  • In conjunction with the Head of High School, oversee the procurement of specialised textbooks, laboratory equipment and digital learning tools.
  • Lead student tracking and university progression initiatives.
  • Ensure that assessments inform academic recovery plans.
  • Develop university counselling partnerships and lead efforts to identify suitable career advisors to guide students.
  • Manage pastoral care systems to help students navigate the high-pressure environment of pre-university examinations.
  • Work with the Examinations Officer to ensure that examination registrations are accurately managed for student entries.
  • Coordinate with the learning support team to secure CAIE approval for special examination accommodations.
  • Enforce strict standardisation and moderation protocols for internal coursework and practical components.
  • Lead and support Management in parent communications through various interactions.
  • Lead and facilitate the admissions process for the A-Level programme, ensuring that required standards are maintained.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination and implementation of the A-Level programme in the High School.
  • Ensure that A-Level teachers use appropriate and subject-relevant pedagogical approaches.
  • Monitor the marking, grading and recording of students’ work and analyse A-Level performance.
  • Develop and implement an A-Level strategy.
  • Perform any other relevant duty as assigned.

 Educational Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university together with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge International Education curriculum.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a leadership position within a school.
  • Very fluent command of the English language.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and organisational skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to inspire learners and promote high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, results-oriented and a team player.
