Inventory and Stock Control Officer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill a position of Inventory and Stock Control Officer for Agricultural Trading Company (ATC), a subsidiary of AHL Group Plc. The position is tenable at ATC Head Office in Lilongwe.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Inventory accuracy and Record Keeping

1. Maintain accurate records between physical and system stock.
2. Conduct regular and periodic stock takes and full inventory audits.
3. Timely reporting of any stock variances for further actions

2. Stock Levels and availability Optimization

1. Preventing stock outs of fast-moving products and avoiding overstocking.
2. Managing minimum, reorder and maximum stock levels with the liaison of sales and marketing team

3. Loss Prevention and shrinkage control

1. Tracking and reducing inventory shrinkages, damages, expiration loss and theft.
2. Inspecting incoming shipments for quality and quantity conformity against purchase order.

4. Cost and efficiency management

1. Controlling inventory carrying (storage, insurance, obsolescence) costs

5. Team Leadership

1. Lead and manage the inventory and stock control team, providing necessary guidance, support, and training.

6. Collaboration

1. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, production, procurement, and administration.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The candidate must:-

• Hold a minimum of Diploma in Supply Chain Management with at least five (5) years’ experience working in a similar position in a busy environment.
• Have strong records management skills.
• Have strong ICT skills.
