JOB VACANCY: MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER

Chisombezi Deafblind Centre, (CDBC), a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons with deafblindness, invites applications from qualified, committed, and results-oriented candidates to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer.

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Blantyre
Reporting to: Executive Director

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation systems in line with organizational and donor requirements
  • Develop and manage M&E tools, indicators, data collection methods, and reporting frameworks
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret program data to track progress, outcomes, and impact
  • Prepare timely and high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports for management and donors
  • Support program staff in activity planning, target setting, and performance tracking
  • Conduct routine field monitoring visits to assess project implementation and data quality
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, storage, and proper documentation
  • Support baseline studies, mid-term reviews, and end-line evaluations
  • Facilitate learning, documentation of best practices, and lessons learned
  • Participate in audits, assessments, and donor monitoring visits

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field
  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in an NGO or donor-funded organization
  • Strong knowledge of M&E concepts, results-based management, and logical frameworks
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools
  • Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
