We have been engaged by our client an established agricultural conglomerate based in Mangochi to facilitate the recruitment process for the following positions:
1. Abattoir Senior Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the abattoir, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards
- Coordinate slaughtering processes, meat inspection, packaging, and dispatch
- Maintain compliance with veterinary, food safety, and health regulations
- Manage abattoir staff, including shift scheduling and performance monitoring
- Monitor inventory of supplies and ensure timely replenishment
- Maintain accurate records of production and inspection outcomes
- Liaise with veterinary officers and other regulatory bodies
- Enforce proper waste management and environmental compliance
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of abattoir operations and food safety protocols
- Proven leadership and staff supervision skills
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to enforce compliance under pressure
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of a diploma in Animal Health, Meat Technology, or related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within an abattoir or meat processing
- environment
- Knowledge of hygiene standards, and slaughterhouse legislation
- Certification in meat inspection or food safety will be an added advantage
2. Crop Production Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and monitor all crop production activities across the estate
- Manage planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting schedules Maintain optimal crop yields and ensure quality standards are met
- Prepare crop production reports and budgets
- Oversee farm machinery usage and maintenance
- Supervise and train field staff and ensure safety and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with environmental and agricultural best practices
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Strong agronomic knowledge and practical crop management experience Effective leadership and team coordination skills
- Strong planning, analytical, and reporting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in remote field locations
- Passion for sustainable agriculture and innovation
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Agronomy, Crop Science, or Agriculture
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in crop management, preferably on a commercial farm Familiarity with mechanized farming and irrigation systems
- Experience working with a variety of crops is an added advantage
3. Forestry Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all forestry operations including planting, thinning, harvesting, and conservation
- Develop and implement sustainable forest management plans
- Monitor forest health and implement pest/disease control measures
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and reforestation guidelines
- Supervise forestry teams and allocate resources efficiently
- Maintain inventory records and forestry databases
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Strong understanding of silviculture and forest ecology
- Excellent leadership and resource management skills
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainable forestry practices
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in forest management or a related area
- Familiarity with GIS, mapping tools, and forest inventory software is an added advantage
