Bholato Foods Limited is a maize flour production company based in Lilongwe. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation in compliance with Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS). We are seeking a diligent Sanitation Supervisor to lead our sanitation team and ensure a clean and safe production environment.
Position Overview
The Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating sanitation activities across the plant, ensuring full compliance with MBS hygiene standards and food safety protocols. The role includes developing cleaning schedules, monitoring chemical use, and training staff on best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the sanitation team to maintain cleanliness in all plant areas
- Develop, implement, and monitor cleaning schedules in line with MBS Code of Hygienic Practice
- Oversee the proper use and storage of approved cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Conduct regular sanitation inspections and maintain detailed cleaning logs and reports
- Train sanitation staff on food-grade hygiene standards and procedures
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to address sanitation-related issues
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Environmental Health, Food Safety, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory sanitation role within the food processing industry
- Knowledge and experience with Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) Code of Hygienic Practice

- Good reporting and record-keeping abilities
- Sound knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
