Position Overview
The Milling Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all maize milling operations, ensuring adherence to production targets, equipment efficiency, and MBS quality standards. This role demands technical know-how, leadership, and close collaboration with the Production Manager and Quality Assurance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all milling activities across shifts
- Ensure optimal operation of milling machinery including hammer mills, roller mills, and sifters
- Implement and enforce MBS standards for flour quality, hygiene, and safety
- Maintain accurate milling logs, production reports, and equipment maintenance records
- Train, guide, and evaluate mill operators to ensure consistent output and compliance
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance when needed
- Monitor raw material input and finished product quality, in collaboration with QA personnel
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Food Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in maize milling operations
- Strong familiarity with industrial milling equipment and basic maintenance routines
- Knowledge of MBS or other food safety and hygiene standards
Key Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Ability to manage shift workers and coordinate with multiple departments
- Good record-keeping and basic computer literacy
