Background
Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) is an affiliate of the Malawi National Council of Sports, and it is the governing body of netball in Malawi with its national secretariat in Lilongwe with four subcommittees namely, Northern Region Netball Committee, Central region Netball Committee, Southern Region netball Committee. Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) is responsible for governing the sport of netball while the committees are responsible for supervision of NAM regional matters. NAM is desirous of improving its NAM Secretariat operations and is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for the positions below
MARKETING, MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
About the Role:
This is a fast-paced roll, the individual will be a vital member of our Marketing department, supporting all aspects of campaign development, digital marketing execution, and event coordination. He/ She will wear many hats, leveraging creativity, analytical skills, and organizational prowess to drive brand awareness and achieve marketing goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead on NAMs digital marketing, managing paid advertising, email marketing.
- Work with digital and TV partners to ensure obligations of NAM in relation to marketing, branding and communications are met.
- Contributes to the creation of marketing materials, campaigns, content, and managing of NAM social media including monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns.
- Help plan, create, and monitor content and edit marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media posts.
- Create marketing campaigns that boost the NAMs fundraising events, partners and sponsors programmes, and demonstrates the impact that sponsorship has on our programmes and netball community.
- Lead on the marketing and communications for all tournaments and national teams’ commitments including managing all such operational communications.
- Manage the Association’s email databases and assist in maintaining the Associations website activities, updates and improving reach.
- Produce strong written copies for both digital and printed media and engage and handle media enquiries with media personnel as required.
- To generate and deliver content including the filming and editing of long and short form multimedia, editing of game footage, and creation of highlight clips (from third party or own filmed content).
- Actively seek opportunities to raise the profile of the sport through sharing of participants personal journeys and bringing the sport to life.
- Marketing and communications event support – proposal and creation of fan engagement opportunities to maximize attendance at NAM events and retention of fans
- Plan, organize, coordinate player appearances, external media events, event logistics, promotional.
- Liaise with all print, TV and radio stations for all NAM and National team commitments
Qualifications Experience and Skills:
- Degree/ Diploma in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field with a major in Marketing and Communications with CIM qualification
- At least 3 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role, with digital marketing experience preferable.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management platforms).
- Experience in the successful execution of marketing and communications activities.
- Experience of developing digital channels and/or delivering social media strategies and campaigns
- Must have a creative flair with a strategic approach to marketing, basic understanding of marketing principles and market research techniques.
- Experience of working in a busy brand marketing and/or communications function
- Ability to write strong and engaging copy for digital or printed platforms
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
