RECRUITMENT OF MARINE OFFICER CADETS
The Marine Training College of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works located at Monkey Bay in Mangochi District is inviting applications from suitably qualified young men and women of 18 years of age and above for training in either NAUTICAL STUDIES (MARINE NAVIGATION) or MARINE ENGINEERING.
The training is for four years and leads to the Award of an Advanced Diploma and a Class III Master or Marine Engineering Certificate of Competency on successful completion.
Applicants must possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physical Science and one other science subject preferably Geography for those applying for Nautical Studies. Applicants must be physically fit and those that will be selected will be required to pass a medical examination, including eye test and hearing conducted by an approved medical practitioner.
Tuition Fees: MK 180,000.00 per semester for residential cadets and MK 140,000.00 per semester for day release cadets, payable on registration or by instalments within the semester with at least 50% paid on registration.
Uniforms: All cadets will be required to purchase nautical uniforms and safety attire which will be specified by the College.
Catering services are outsourced to a private catering company and cadets shall make own arrangements with the caterer.
