Our client, a leading fast Consumer Package Goods (CPG) brands is looking for an energetic, aggressive, self-motivated and result oriented individual to join its team in the position mentioned below:
LOGISTICS DIRECTOR
Responsible for managing end-to-end operations within a business’ supply chain, and working internally with production, leadership, sales, and warehousing teams to optimize a business’ supply chain and align it with growth goals.
The Logistics Directors is a key leader for day-to-day of operations and to nurture external relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, freight brokers, vendors, and last-mile carriers, and work closely with these parties to consistently meet deadlines as cost-effectively as possible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The director of logistics job description in most organizations typically consists of the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
- Ensuring that goods are efficiently transported and they are delivered to where they are meant to be on time
- Liaising with vendors in order to come up with the best and cheaper price possible on materials and transportation services
- Recruiting and hiring new workers while also overseeing the activities of staff in order to ensure that operations flow smoothly
- Managing budgets by making ends meet which involves keeping a careful eye on costs and finding a cheaper way to transport goods
- Looking out for ways to improve transportation processes. For example, redesigning how a warehouse is arranged in order to make it easier for loads to be arranged and placed into trucks
- Monitoring inventory by coming up with new ideas or innovations on how the organization can sell more products and how customer demands can be accurately satisfied
- Maintaining good and healthy relationships with staff, customers, or vendors and seeking feedback from customers in order to ensure their satisfaction
- Keeping track of timetables and costs..
RELATED JOB REQUIREMENT / QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in supply chain management, transportation, economics, business administration, project management, or a similar field
- 9+ years of experience in an industry-related field
- Experience managing teams of full-time and part-time employees
- Experience in analysing metrics and data-driven decision-making
- Proven ability to design and execute a supply chain strategy
- Proven ability to consistently deliver on KPIs
- Technical and applied understanding of logistics software and warehouse management systems
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Detail-oriented
- Requires ability to influence at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices
- Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry (CPG) is preferred
