Background

Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) is an affiliate of the Malawi National Council of Sports, and it is the governing body of netball in Malawi with its national secretariat in Lilongwe with four subcommittees namely, Northern Region Netball Committee, Central region Netball Committee, Southern Region netball Committee. Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) is responsible for governing the sport of netball while the committees are responsible for supervision of NAM regional matters. NAM is desirous of improving its NAM Secretariat operations and is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for the positions below.

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Reporting to the NAM Executive Committee through the office of the Treasurer, the Finance and Administration Manager will be responsible for the overall operational management of the NAM Secretariat Offices. He/she will provide strong accounting, financial accountability, governance and administrative leadership to ensure the development, growth and performance of Netball in Malawi.

NAM seeks a Finance and Administrative Manager  to manage accounts, finance functions, and administrative tasks. With an associate’s degree in accounting and three years of experience, the ideal candidate will excel in QuickBooks, teamwork, and project management and the support financial and administrative operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily finance functions related to accounts payables, accounts receivables, inventory management, general ledger and fixed asset management as per the association’s objectives.
  • Support the financial reporting, audit, reconciliation, and other related accounting activities and ensure all governance processes are carried out.
  • Process and maintain accurate invoices, transactions, records, reports and oversee daily office operations and procedures
  • Lead the operations, administrative leadership and ensure efficiency of the NAM Secretariat Operations.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to NAM EXCO, Regional and District Committees and national teams technical teams
  • Coordinate netball projects, competitions, meetings, appointments, travel arrangements and handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails relating to Netball and the national teams
  • Maintain and organize office files, documents, and records while ensuring confidentiality and security of data.
  • Address all NAM enquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Degree in accounting from a recognized and accredited university or ACCA Advanced Diploma
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the accounting field and another 2 years in the administrative field.
  • Experience working with projects, financing, budgeting, reconciliation, financial reporting and general administration
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in planning, organizing and coordinating programmes.
  • Proficiency in common office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
