We are looking for suitably qualified, passionate, hardworking, and enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of:

Key Responsibilities
1. Data Management
- Support the cleaning, transformation, and maintenance of large datasets collected via the Neotree platform.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility in collaboration with digital health teams in accordance with Malawi Data Protection Act
- Manage data flows between Neotree, DHIS2, and other data systems (as applicable).
- Track complementary data systems, especially paper-based records, to identify variables critical to Neotree integration
2. Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Conduct routine and ad hoc analysis of neonatal health indicators and system performance metrics.
- Perform statistical analysis and generate insights to guide clinical and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Neotree Implementation team, clinical teams and other stakeholders to identify trends, anomalies, and areas needing intervention.
- Support training of facility-based staff and project team members on data use and interpretation.
- Assist in building a data-driven culture within Neotree implementation sites.
3. Visualization & Reporting
- Design and maintain user-friendly dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or DHIS2.
- Contribute to the preparation of data-driven reports and presentations for donors, MoH, and other stakeholders.
- Translate complex data into non-technical, actionable insights and policy-relevant summaries.
- Prepare reports based on stakeholder indicators on time and if necessary stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Prepare final analysis reports for stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling data-driven decisions.
- Understand data storage and data sharing methods, identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
4. Data Requests Handling
- Set expectations about the data requests workflow with reasonable timelines in line with the expected standards.
- Define data requests workflow and record/track all data requests.
- Automate repetitive data requests.
- Measure and improve the data requests workflow by getting feedback from the stakeholders.
5. Cross-team Collaboration
- Work with the international team and lead in identifying process improvement opportunities, proposed modifications and new process improvement opportunities for Neotree project.
- Work closely with nurses, clinicians and other Neotree staff members to align data structures with project goals.
- Participate in operational research, evaluations, and learning events as required.
- Conduct Training for Neotree system users on new developments, reports and dashboards.
- Researching solutions to overcome data analytics challenges.
- Produce and maintain high quality comprehensive documentation.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in health or development programs.
- Strong command of data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, Stata, or SPSS).
- Proven skills in data visualization (e.g.,Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Google Studio or advanced Excel).
- Experience working with relational databases and data query tools (e.g., SQL).
Desirable:
- Familiarity with digital health systems like DHIS2.
- Experience in the health sector, preferably RMNCH or neonatal programs.
- Understanding of data quality assurance and ethical handling of sensitive health data

- Technical & analytical: Expertise in data management (R/Python/SQL), statistical analysis, and visualization (Power BI/Tableau) to transform raw neonatal health data into actionable insights while ensuring integrity and compliance with data protection laws.
- Stakeholder engagement: Ability to collaborate with clinicians, MoH, and global teams, translating complex findings into clear reports/dashboards and training non-technical users.
- Process improvement: Skills in automating workflows, optimizing data systems (e.g., DHIS2 integration), and documenting processes to enhance efficiency.
- Critical thinking: Aptitude for identifying trends, anomalies, and data-driven solutions to improve neonatal care outcomes.
- Communication: Strong presentation and storytelling skills to convey insights to diverse audiences, from frontline staff to policymakers.
- Ethical & adaptive: Commitment to ethical data handling and adaptability to work across cultures and evolving project needs.
