Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government’s efforts in in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.
MACRO’s Vision is “Malawi populace free of ill-Health” and its Mission is “Transform lives of Malawians through provision of high-quality HIV and AIDS, and other health related services”.
MACRO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position for MACRO Private Clinic in Blantyre.
Job Title: Clinic Nurse
Reports to: Clinic in Charge
Location: Blantyre (Chirimba)
About the Role: The clinic nurse will deliver patient-centered care, fostering interprofessional collaboration by supporting healthcare teams and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Education Qualifications
• Holder of MSCE Certificate or its equivalent
• Professional Diploma in Nursing and three years working experience in private clinic.
• Degree in Nursing and two years working experience in private clinic will be an added advantage.
• Training in New STI Guidelines, ART, Family Planning, Cervical cancer screening and relevant Ministry of Health short courses
• Training in quality improvement and customer care
• Registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi
Knowledge and Skills
• Effective teamwork with other healthcare professionals
• Customer care
• Excellent communication and handling of stressful situations with professionalism
• Time management and multitasking
• Prioritizing tasks in fast-paced environment
Key Duties
• Assessing patients through history taking, physical examination and laboratory examination
• Providing information on education and communication related to various health conditions
• Maintain quality assurance and customer care in provision of health services
• Supply chain management
• Clients’ records management
