CCAP, Synod of Livingstonia, Education Department is one of departments in the Synod of Livingstonia with over 580 primary schools, 7 secondary schools,1 Technical College, 5 special needs schools and a teacher training college. It is one of the main providers of education in the synod’s catchment area in the country, working in close partnership with the
government and other stakeholders in the education sector.

The mission of the department is “to provide quality education for spiritual, physical, mental and social economic development to the society in Malawi with emphasis on holistic approach that promotes and upholds Christian values and the spirit of good stewardship. This will endeavour sustainable socioeconomic development and poverty reduction in Malawi.

The department is calling for applications from suitably qualified and interested Malawians to fill the following positions tenable at Loudon Teachers Training College.

Position: Lecturer in Sciences (2 positions)

Subject combinations:
Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science
Agriculture and Home Economics

Position: Lecturer in Expressive Arts (2 Positions)

Subject Combinations:
Music& Dance, P/Education, Arts and Drama
Contract period: 3 years renewable

Location: Embangweni, South of Mzimba District


1. To teach and assess student teachers.
2. Interprets education policy and legislation
3. Supervise activities as assigned by the college.
4. To actively participate in scholarly activities such as teaching practice at the college.
5. To serve on college committees to which they may be appointed; and
6. To undertake any other reasonable duties as required and assigned by the principal or head of department.

• Must possess a university degree (BA, BSc) in Education those with Masters Degree will have an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in administration and training teachers.
• God fearing and sober minded.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills in English are a must.
• Self-starter and innovative
• Work with minimal supervision
