Post : Assistant Clerk of Parliament (Committee)
Grade: E/P4
Responsible to : Senior Assistant Clerk of Parliament

Purpose of the Job
To provide strategic and procedural advice and administrative support to the Committee Chairpersons and Committee Members for the efficient and effective operation of the Committee work.


  1. Coordinates the schedules for Committee meetings;
  2. Coordinates allocation of Committee Clerks and other support staff to serve various Committees;
  3. Assists the Clerk of Parliament in serving meetings of the Committee of Chairpersons;
  4. Advises the Committee Chairpersons, Committee Members and Management on best Committee Practice and Procedure;
  5. Coordinates the production of reports by various Committees for presentation to the House;
  6. Ensures that the Committee reports adopted by the House are transmitted to relevant Government Ministries or Departments for appropriate action;
  7. Plans and directs the implantation of the activities of the Committee Section in line with Parliament’s strategic plan; and,
  8. Facilitates building capacity and management of staff in the Committee Division.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A Master’s Degree in Public Administration or Political Science or Law plus a minimum of four (4) years’ working experience in procedural and legislative work at job grade F/P5 or at management position. Those with experience in Parliamentary Committee work shall have an added advantage.
