HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
THE COMPANY
The Times Group Ltd, established in 1895, is the biggest and leading Media House and the only 360 degrees Media House in the country. Divisions operating under The Times Group Ltd are Times Press, Dzuka Publishing Company, Times Television, Times Radio, TimesCom, Times Courier and Times360Malawi.
The Times Group is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Human Resource and Administration Manager, tenable at its Head Office, Ginnery Corner, Blantyre.
JOB OVERVIEW
The HRAM will be responsible for the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Company’s human resources strategy as well as coordinating the provision of a diverse range of HR services across the Company and its subsidiaries, in alignment with the Company’s Strategic Business Objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Managing Director, the HRAM will be expected to deliver results in the following performance areas:
- Develop, interpret, review and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Lead in talent acquisition, management and retention initiatives.
- Coordinate staff learning and development programs.
- Ensure the effective implementation of the performance management system, including establishing clear, measurable objectives, on-going feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations.
- Design and oversee the implementation of reward and remuneration structures.
- Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
- Promote staff welfare and wellness programs.
- Oversee the implementation of the Group’ Safety and Health Management System.
- Ensure compliance with labour and industrial relations legislation.
- Oversee the security function of the Company.
- Oversee the overall maintenance of Company premises and facilities (physical work environment) and ensure that these are fully utilized.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in HR and administrative management, at a senior level, within the commercial sector. He/she MUST meet the following requirements:
- Have superior knowledge of HR best practices and trends.
- Have superior knowledge of Malawi Labour Laws.
- Have effective leadership skills including ability to motivate teams.
- Have an analytical and strategic mindset.
- Have superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Have high level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Possession of a relevant Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- Membership to a professional body.
