Job Description
The Valuation Officer’s primary role is to provide professional property valuation services under the guidance of the Property Manager. The officer will be responsible for conducting valuations, property market research, consultancy services, and maintaining accurate records for the valuation and brokerage section. The role also ensures that relevant data is available for decision-making and supports the growth of valuation and brokerage services.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Property Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting property valuations, including inspections, preparing building sketches/drawings, calculating floor areas, valuation analysis, and preparing valuation reports.
- Carrying out searches for titles and other property-related documents at Land Registries.
- Handling property transactions, including brokering on behalf of clients.
- Marketing and lobbying for property valuation assignments from clients.
- Conducting property market research.
- Maintaining accurate records of valuations, client interactions, and assignments.
- Ensuring compliance with professional valuation standards and institutional policies.
- Maintaining good client relationships.
- Providing property consultancy services to clients.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Land Economy, or Estate Management.
- Minimum of 3 years practical experience in property valuation.
- Registration with the Land Economy Board as a licensed Valuation Surveyor will be an added advantage.
Skills & Attributes:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)/Microsoft Visio/Smart draw.
- Strong communication skills, report writing, interpersonal skills, time management skills, negotiation skills, and must be a team player.
