Income Generating Activities Officer

Marymount Catholic Secondary School was opened on 29th January, 1963. The school is located on the Southern part of the plot of land owned by the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu. It is situated along the Chimaliro Road, about eight kilometres from the hub of Mzuzu City. Although the school is based in Mzuzu, its catchment area covers all districts in Malawi.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, committed Christians to fill the following positions existing at Marymount Catholic Secondary School.

INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITIES OFFICER (IGA)

The successful candidate will be answerable to the School Manager through the Finance Manager. He/she will be responsible for:

1. Coordinating development work in the school in conjunction with management
2. Managing farming projects i.e. piggery, maize farm, fish ponds, orchard, poultry and vegetable garden among others
3. Sourcing quotations and identifying contractors for IGA infrastructures
4. Coming up with Income Generating Activities and supervising the existing ones

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum of Diploma in Agriculture or its equivalent
2. Must have at least 5 years experience in a similar position
3. Must be between the age of 35-55 years
4. Must be a practicing Christian
5. Must be sober-minded and honest
6. Must be a self-starter
7. Must be computer literate
