Head of Revenue
Job Responsibilities
a) Strategic Planning
- Developing growth strategies to broaden revenue base.
- Approving revenue bank reconciliations and customers’ account reconciliations.
- Managing the online Revenue collection and reporting system
b)Budget Management
- Managing the Revenue budget
- Managing the expenditure budgets of the revenue department.
- Leading in the development of budget estimates including the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow projections.
c) Team Leadership
- Leading in the development of reasonable and thorough revenue projections.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Revenue staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Responsible for period close strategic reporting on revenue to management and for audit purposes.
- Supervising and developing subordinates.
d) Risk Management
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with the Authority’s operations and transactions.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of mitigating factors on identified risks.
e) Monitoring and Reporting
- Presenting revenue reports and realistic forecasts to the executive team.
- Monitoring the strategies and processes across the revenue cycle from customer acquisition to engagement to succeed.
- Monitoring the revenue flow, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth.
f) Collaboration
- Establishing close relationships with key target customers.
- Creating a standardized outreach for revenue customers and coordinating its implementation across all internal departments.
Job Context
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Head of Revenue shallhave direct responsibility for the following officers:
a) Revenue Accountant
b) Project Accountant
Educational Requirements
- Master’s degree in either of the following fields: – Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or any related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Full professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA Mw.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a senior accountant or similar position.
- Must be a full registered member of Institute of Chartered of Accountants of Malawi (ICAM).
- Proficient in Sage 300 ERP-ACCPAC, and Microsoft office packages.
- Experience in the Management of levy system.

The position requires a hardworking, honest and technically competent person with strong analytical, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
