Balaka District Council

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill Non-Established (NE) posts available in the Education Sector of Balaka District Council. The recruitment has been made possible with funding from the Save the Children Fund under a Numeracy and Literacy Program to be implemented for five (5) years from 2024 to 2028.

Grade: N
Station: District Education Office
Salary: MK3,508,536.00 per annum.

Reporting to : The Program Cordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Driving assigned program vehicles to designated destinations
  • Checking the condition of the vehicles and ensuring that the vehicle is in roadworthy condition at all times
  • Recording mileage on the requisition form and Log Book
  • Reporting vehicle faults to Transport/ Administrative Officer
  • Refueling Program vehicles to ensure that the vehicle has adequate fuel at all times
  • Managing fuel card and register and ensure safe custody of the card
  • Cleaning and washing all program motor vehicles
  • Checking availability of spare tyre and tools in the vehicles
  • Checking levels of fuel, oil, engine coolant, tyre pressure and brake fluid in program vehicles
  • Checking vehicle licenses, certificate of fitness and insurance validity
    Recording of trips in the logbook
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a driver with knowledge of Motor Vehicle Mechanics
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Any other roles that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.

Qualification

  • A minimum of Class B driving license plus a recent Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • Malawi School Certificate of Education will have an added advantage,
