Serendib Hotels and Resorts

Serendib Hotels and Resorts is seeking an experienced and dynamic Banquet and Conference Manager to oversee all aspects of our banquet and conference operations. An attractive remuneration and incentives shall be provided based on targets and business attained.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing expert guidance on event planning and logistics.
  • Coordinate with various hotel departments (kitchen, housekeeping, front office) to ensure seamless execution of events.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and conference events.
  • Ensure all events are delivered in accordance with hotel standards and client expectations.
  • Manage the inventory and maintenance of banquet and conference equipment, including linens, tableware, and audiovisual systems.

Financial Management:

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure the best possible terms.

Client Relations:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns or issues that arise during the planning or execution of events.
  • Follow up with clients post-event to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment for staff and guests.

Qualifications Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in banquet, conference, or event management in a hotel or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable in banqueting etiquette
  • Customer service oriented
