Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Warehouse and Logistics Manager for NASFAM Commodity Marketing Exchange (NASCOMEX) Limited, the commercial arm of NASFAM.

The overall objective of this position is to lead the process of organizing safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of stock and other materials for NASCOMEX. The position works under the direction of the General Manager and is responsible for all aspects of warehousing and related logistics, ensuring that laid down procedures and processes are complied with and running smoothly for the achievement of business objectives.

This position requires a mature, organized and responsible person who can work independently to achieve the required standards for the position.

Key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Develop and implement warehouse operational systems and protocols by determining product handling, storage requirements and processes, inventory management, gate processes and product distribution.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, controlling and managing inventory, logistics and related documentation
  • Maintain safe and healthy environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with Quality Management, Health and Safety regulations.
  • Track stock levels and making recommendations on which supplies to order and keep stock control systems up to date.
  • In liaison with the Procurement Committee and Sales Department, lead the process of liaising with suppliers and transporters to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and stock dispatch
  • Ensure that warehouse reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are accurately maintained including keeping track of warehousing and logistics associated costs and reconcile with finance

Qualification

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a first Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or any related field from a recognized university.

Experience and Key Competences

  • At least five years work experience in a similar role. Those with experience in agro processing industry will have an added advantage
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of the warehousing and logistics management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Must have good organization skills and the ability to prioritize tasks as well as manage time effectively
  • A strong self-starter, self-motivated with a flexible and adaptable working approach
  • Computer literacy (word, excel, power point etc) is a must
