Grant Thornton have been retained by their client, Prime Insurance Company Limited to recruit suitably qualifying candidates for the positions of Legal Manager and Legal officer.

LEGAL MANAGER
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Legal Manager shall be responsible for initiating, undertaking and coordinating legal actions on behalf of the company.

Main Duties

    • Preparation of necessary court documents.
    • Liaising with external lawyers handling cases for and against the Company.
    • Ensuring effective prosecution of all civil and criminal cases involving the Company.
    • Updating the Company on legal developments affecting the Company.
    • Oversee general management and administration the Company’s legal department.
    • Attending to claims litigations in the High Court and Magistrates Court in liaise with the Claims and underwriting department.
    • Advising claims department on legal aspects of claims handling and providing legal opinion on specific claims.
    • Production of regular progress reports on litigation claims in liaison with the Claims Manager.
    • Assisting the company in reviewing and updating technical documents such as policy wordings.

    • Knowledge of law in particular insurance policies laws and road traffic act.

Qualifications and Skills

    • Be holder of a degree in Law (LLB) with a valid license to practice law.
    • Those with (LLM) and worked for Insurance Companies shall have an added advantage.
    • Should have experience in litigation.
    • Should have work experience of not less than 5 years.

Remuneration
The position offers a remuneration package and benefits commensurate with its seniority, level of skills and experience.
