Ufulu Gardens Hotel invites applications from suitably qualified and well-experienced candidates for the following positions tenable at the Hotel in Lilongwe’s Area 43.

ASSISTANT HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Duties/Responsibilities

    • Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities of staff.
    • Provide guidance, coaching and advice to Managers/Supervisors on selection and recruitment, performance appraisals and termination processes.
    • Manage payroll processes to ensure that employees are paid correctly and on time according to their contractual entitlements.
    • Ensure that industrial relations policies and procedures are monitored and maintained.
    • Proficiency in Employment and Labour Relations Acts
    • Working knowledge of the 2010 Pension scheme
    • Maintaining an effective personnel filing system
    • Any other duties relevant to the position as delegated by the Managing Director.

Skills and Qualifications Required for the Job

    • Diploma in Human Resource Management or related discipline
    • At least 3 years’ experience
    • High level of communication, organizational and leadership skills
    • Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential
    • Working knowledge of Malawi’s Industrial Relations system and employment law
    • Ability to work under minimum supervision and at odd hours
