Mangochi District Council with support from the American people through US Agency for International Development (USAID), will over the course of three years, implement critical health activities at the district level and contribute to the improvement of HIV/AIDS, Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Family Planning (FP), Tuberculosis (TB) and Nutrition outcomes in Mangochi district. To achieve the intended objectives of the government- to -government agreement (G2G), Mangochi District Council intends to employ additional Health Care and
Support Staff workers.

The Council, therefore, invites suitably qualified Malawians who will be employed under the employment terms and conditions of the Government of Malawi (Salary inclusive) to fill the following vacant posts existing in Mangochi District Council (Rural Health facilities and Communities).

POST: Nurse Midwifery Technician (HK/M9)
SALARY: Within the Grade K/M9 Government Salary
LOCATION: Mangochi District Council (Rural Health Facilities and Communities)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide equal nursing care using the nursing/midwifery process.
  2. Perform activities of daily living for the patients 24 hours/day
  3. Observe patients’ condition and progress.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient care.
  5. Use appropriate common skills during nursing care
  6. Administer medication and treatment to patients and clients
  7. Assist in the rehabilitation of patients through application of principles of prevention of deformities, range of motion exercise and body alignment
  8. Adhere to continuous professional development.
  9. Document and maintain accurate records of all nursing care activities performed.
  10. Building therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians and fellow health workers.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery obtained from a recognized University/Institution and be a registered member of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
