R4H wishes to recruit suitable qualified, experienced and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Stores Clerk. The qualified persons must be able to show potential to manage sample transport processes and work effectively with a diverse group of people

Stores Clerk- (1 Position)
Base: Lilongwe
Reports to; Human Resources and Administration Manager

The purpose of the Position

The Stores Clerk is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient stores management to the project. S/he is also responsible for providing effective stores management support to project staff. S/He reports to the Human Resources and Administration Officer with a dotted line to Operations Officer

Roles specification/Key responsibilities 

  • Maintaining a professional stores management system that ensures effective receipt, storage and issuance of materials
  • Records purchases, maintains database. performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports
  • Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods, re-stocks items as necessary
  • Preparing accurate regular stock reports to Head HR and Administration to make informed materials management decisions
  • Maintaining an up to date register for all project capital equipment.
  • Participating in quarterly stock take exercise
  • Organizing requests for procurement of stationery and other office supplies
  • Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry into the inventory management system
  • Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment supplies stocked in the warehouse
  • Ensure adequate security of the warehouse and safety of all supplies and consignments under your custody.
  • Any other duty assigned by management

Qualifications and experience

  • At least a diploma or an equivalent professional qualification in stores management, administration or other relevant subjects High levels of integrity, honesty, strong ethics but also a quick learner
  • Demonstrable understanding of safeguarding risks and mitigating actions
  • At least 3 years working experience in a professionally managed warehouse environment
  • Experience in computerized stores management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess high level of integrity, honesty, maturity, diligence, good attitude and commitment towards work
  • Must be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
