AFIDEP is a regional non-profit research and policy Institute whose mission is to institutionalize a culture of consistent use of evidence in public policy formulation and implementation to address various
development challenges in Africa. Our work focuses on five thematic areas namely: Population Dynamics
and Demographic Dividend, Health and Wellbeing, Transformative Education and Skills Development,
Environment and Climate Change, and Governance and Accountability. The Institute is registered as a
Non-Governmental Organization in Kenya and Malawi where it has offices and in the USA as a 501c3 non-profit organization.
AFIDEP is looking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the post listed below.
The position will be based at the Institute’s offices in Lilongwe Malawi. For more details about the

The driver will provide reliable and safe driving services to authorized personnel and other high-ranking officials and visitors ensuring the highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. The driver shall also be required to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, confidentiality, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the driver will also be required to provide driving services to
the operations and technical staff in the Office, consultants and experts. The driver will provide basic administrative and clerical support to the AFIDEP Malawi Office.
Essentially, the person must have respect for diversity, Integrity and professionalism. Must have a minimum qualification of Malawi School Certificate of Education with a clean valid driver’s license. Defensive driving certificate will be an added advantage with at least 3 years of experience as a driver in an international organization. Fluency in English is a must have and Chichewa is required. This position is based at AFIDEP’s Lilongwe, Malawi office.
