Accelerating Commercial and Community Energy Supply Sustainably (ACCESS)

Background

United Purpose (UP) is an international relief and development organization that strives to empower Malawians to identify and achieve their own development objectives. UP supports practical actions that enable people to improve their lives and shape their own future. UP works in partnership with District Councils and communities to implement development interventions reaching over 1,000,000 rural people each year.

With funding from Irish Aid, UP has been implementing a five-year ACCESS program since 2017 which aims at improving the livelihoods of 80% of the population anticipated to be living in ‘energy poverty’, by contributing to the Government of Malawi’s goal of ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, efficient and modern energy for all Malawians by 2030.

Among other objectives, the project aims at increasing energy access to rural and peri-urban households and communities in Malawi through;

  1. Scaling up of integration of cook stoves into the Social Cash Transfer in Dedza, Nkhotakota and Mzimba districts

UP therefore is looking for three well qualified and experienced Field Facilitators to support implementation of field activities of stove and solar distributions and sales in the targeted districts. The Project will end on 31st December 2021, may be extended depending on performance and availability of funds.
