Unitrans Malawi Ltd, a prominent employer in the sugar and agriculture logistics industry wants to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacancy that has arisen at Nchalo Depot:

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the duties of the MIG Welder Foreman includes:

  • Supervise the activities of the Welding Bay i.e. inspecting and ensuring that repairs are done to predetermined standard in order to minimize wastage of materials.
  • Construct and repair steel and other metal components using a variety of welding techniques
  • Must be able to carry out repairs to the Company’s heavy plant and machinery right first time
  • Comply with all Occupational Safety and Health regulations all the times.

The Person – Qualifications and experience
1. Must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE);
2. Must have Grade 1 (National Trade Test) certificate, City & Guilds part 2 or 3 or Malawi Craft certificate.
3. Applicants must have knowledge and experience of manufacturing or repairing trailers
4. Applicants must have not less than 5 years’ experience in Mig (CO2) welding experience.
