U.S. Embassy Lilongwe is pleased to announce that we are accepting proposals for the PEPFAR Small Grants Program.

U.S. Embassy Lilongwe will partner with community-based organizations to complete small-scale projects that support the Malawi Health Sector Strategic Plan, the Malawi National Strategic Plan for HIV/AIDS, and the PEPFAR Malawi Country Operational Plan 2023 Year 2, fiscal year 2025. Successful applicants will show a strong connection to the local community and a history of successful work. Priority activities include encouraging back to care, promoting treatment literacy, disseminating accurate HIV public messages, providing solutions to stigma and discrimination, and enhancing HIV prevention, care, and support.

Grants for up to $10,000 are available. Projects that address needs within disadvantaged or marginalized populations are encouraged.

Program Application Schedule

– Application Period: 1 April 2024 – 31 May 2024

– Grant Award Announcement: September 2024.

Limits

– One proposal per organization.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS:

31 May 2024, 17:00 CAT

– Funds cannot be comingled with funds from other donors.

– Funding is competitive and not guaranteed.

Applicant Criteria

Registered not-for-profit organizations, community-based organizations, youth networks, and faith-based organizations with prior experience addressing the HIV pandemic in Malawi may apply.

Hard copies can be collected at U.S. Embassy offices in Lilongwe City Center Monday-Thursday, 7:30-17:00 and Friday, 7:30-12:30.

Grant limit: $10,000

Deadline: 31 May 2024, by 17:00 CAT.
